I started making this soup in the afternoon for dinner--I still hadn't received my book--and I really didn't read the directions--I just pulled everything down that I needed.  I was trying to figure out how to hide the beans when I looked up and saw that my husband (aka bean hater) had just pulled up.  I rinsed the beans stuck my immersion blender right into the can to mash them up and dumped them into the soup and stirred like mad and tossed the can just as bean hater came in the door.

I told him I was making pizza soup for dinner and he of course had to taste it right then and there.  He loved it.  He had a big bowl and I had a little bowl for dinner and then fruit fruit and more fruit.

I thought I was being so smart about mashing up the beans until I read the directions and it told me to mash the beans--Oh, well.

Hey RB and welcome! It is so great to have you!  grin I just wanted to add one thing. The pizza soup should be eaten for you big meal at lunch because it has heavy protein in it. (unless you are switching your big meal for the day) (or do you call lunch, dinner? If that's the case then just void what I said, I know some people call lunch dinner.) It is ok to have light protein for dinner(supper) like eggs and beans, but you want to stay away from meat in the evening. That said, I am so glad that your husband liked it! You will have plenty of opportunity to add beans into things by blending them, in the future. And you never know, maybe he will grow to like beans! That would be great!

Hey RB...

what a laugh you gave me.  i can really see you stirring like a crazy person before your husband walked into the kitchen!  How did you keep from laughing when he said he loved it?

I've never made pizza soup but i'm going to try it soon.

God bless!

RB that is hysterical!   laughing  I wasn't just laughing at you blending the beans on the sly but calling your hubs "the bean hater".  LOLOL

I've had the exact same experience with people who HATE beans wanting another bowl of soup that is FULL of bean.   cheesy  cheesy  evil  You're doing great!
